Poor posture and bad habits in movement place undue pressure on the spine. The resulting muscular tension is a frequent cause of back pain, which may also radiate to other areas of the body, such as the head, neck, arms and legs. This is why each Yoga Asana generally involves some part of the spine in the exercise.
Join us for a beginners yoga course with a special focus on the therapeutic yoga movements beneficial for maintaining a healthy back and neck. You will also learn relaxation techniques to de-stress your body & mind and breathing practices to balance the nervous system.
About Yoga Against Back Pain of Yoga in Daily Life
The exercise programmes of Yoga Against Back Pain of Yoga in Daily Life are the result of the cooperation between the founder and author, Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, and allopathic doctors and physiotherapists, sharing experiences from their many years of work in this field. Out of this exchange, a valuable synthesis of eastern and western science has emerged.
In each Level of the programme, the whole body is treated using relaxation, stretching and strengthening techniques. This means that each Level is self-contained with regards to the way it works as an integrated, holistic unit of exercise through which the combined effects of the Yoga techniques can come to full expression.
